Terms of Service
1. Who we are and acceptance of these terms
2. Definitions
- "Platform" means the website, app, and any related services operated by The Parent Source.
- "Parent/Carer" or "you" means any individual who uses the Platform to search for and be matched with a Professional.
- "Professional" means any independent health, education, or related practitioner who registers a listing on the Platform.
- "Match" means the introduction generated by the Platform between a Parent/Carer and a Professional based on the concern described and, where relevant, your geographic location
- "Content" means any text, images, listings, reviews, or other material submitted to or displayed on the Platform.
3. What the Platform does
The Parent Source is a connecting service only. We provide a directory and matching tool that helps Parents/Carers identify Professionals in the United Kingdom and elsewhere. It is then up to a Parent/Carer as to whether they choose to contact and engage a Professional’s services directly and outside of the Platform. Parents/Carers do not need to register an account or build a profile. Instead, you describe your child’s concern / need using a pre-populated selection tool, and the Platform matches you with a relevant Professional based on that concern/need and, where you opt to provide this, your general location. Professionals register an account, submit credentials, and create a listing that Parents/Carers can be matched with.
We are not a healthcare provider, education provider, childcare provider, or regulated professional body. We do not provide, supervise, or take any responsibility for the treatment, care, advice, or service that a Professional provides once a Match is made. This is explained in full in Section 8 below.
4. Eligibility
- Each Professional and you must be 18 or over and have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement to use the Platform.
- The Platform is intended for use by adults only. It is not intended to be used directly by children, and no part of the Platform should be used by, or on behalf of, a child without the involvement of a parent, carer, or other responsible adult.
- Professionals must hold any qualifications, registrations, licences, and insurance required by law to provide the services they list, and must keep these current for as long as they are listed on the Platform. Where this is no longer the case it is the Professional’s sole responsibility to notify us in writing immediately and their account will be suspended or removed accordingly.
5. Parent and carer use of the Platform
- You may use the search and matching tool free of charge to find a Professional. The Platform does not charge Parents/Carers a fee for being matched. Membership fees are payable by Professionals only, as set out in Section 7.
- The information you provide when highlighting your concern / need is used solely to generate a suitable Match. You should not include any person’s name (including your own or a child's), or other identifying details when describing your concern / need.
- You are responsible for satisfying yourself that a Professional is suitable before engaging their services, including by reviewing and checking their listed credentials and asking any questions or undertaking any further checks that you consider necessary before proceeding.
- Any agreement for the provision of care, treatment, advice, or education support is made directly between you and the Professional. The Parent Source is not a party to that agreement.
6. Professional listings
- Professionals must provide accurate, complete, and up-to-date information when registering, including qualifications, registration/licence numbers, insurance details, and, where applicable, DBS or safeguarding check status.
- Whilst we do not undertake mandatory checks on Professionals then we reserve the right to carry out reasonable verification checks on the information provided before a listing goes live, and periodically thereafter. Listing of a Professional on the Platform does not amount to an ongoing guarantee, endorsement, or supervision of a Professional's conduct by us.
- Professionals are independent practitioners. They are not employees, agents, partners, or subcontractors of The Parent Source and the same applies vice versa.
- Professionals are solely responsible for the services they provide, the advice they give, compliance with their own professional and regulatory obligations, and their own data protection obligations as an independent data controller in respect of any data a Parent/Carer shares with them directly.
- Professionals pay a monthly membership subscription to list on the Platform, based on the number of profiles included in their tier — see Section 7 for full pricing.
- We may decline to list, suspend, or remove any Professional at our discretion, including where we reasonably believe information provided is inaccurate, a required credential has lapsed, or a safeguarding concern has been raised.

- If a Professional exceeds the number of profiles included in their membership tier, we may require them to upgrade to the appropriate tier or remove excess profiles.
8. Our role: limitation of liability and indemnity
This section is important — please read it carefully.
- The Parent Source facilitates introductions between Parents/Carers and independent Professionals. We do not vet, supervise, or take responsibility for the ongoing quality, safety, or outcome of any care, treatment, advice, or service that a Professional provides.
- We are not a party to a Parent / Carer’s relationship or contract with a Professional, and accordingly we disclaim and take no responsibility for, the care, treatment, advice, or service that any Professional provides nor for a Parent / Carer’s (or their child’s) conduct towards or use of a Professional. Further, we limit and exclude liability wherever possible in this regard and by using the Platform each Parent / Carer and Professional agrees to defend, hold harmless and indemnify us from any and all claims of whatsoever nature and whether arising in contract, tort or otherwise, as a result of their use of the introductory services provided via the Platform.
- To the fullest extent permitted by law, we exclude all warranties, conditions, and representations as to the suitability, competence, or availability of any Professional listed on the Platform.
- We do not exclude or limit liability for death or personal injury caused by our own negligence, nor for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
- Where we are unable to exclude or limit our liability to a Professional then in the case of any single Professional our total liability to a Professional in connection with the Platform shall not exceed the fees paid by or on behalf of that Professional to us in the preceding 12 month period.
- We are not liable for any loss or damage arising from reliance placed on Content submitted, including reviews, or from any interruption, error, or unavailability of the Platform.
9. Safeguarding
If you believe a child or vulnerable person is in immediate danger, contact emergency services (999 in the UK and Jersey) directly. Do not rely on the Platform to respond to urgent safeguarding concerns.
10. Acceptable use
- provide false, misleading, or fraudulent information, including false credentials as a Professional;
- use the Platform to harass, abuse, or discriminate against any other user;
- attempt to circumvent, disrupt, or interfere with the security or normal operation of the Platform;
- scrape, copy, or reuse Content from the Platform for any purpose other than your own personal use of the matching service;
- use the Platform for any unlawful purpose, or in a way that could harm a child or vulnerable person.
11. Reviews and user content
- Where we allow Parents/Carers to leave reviews or feedback about a Professional, this must be honest, based on genuine experience, and must not contain content that is defamatory, abusive, or identifies a child.
- We may remove any Content that we reasonably believe breaches these Terms or applicable law, without prior notice.
- You retain ownership of Content you submit, but grant us a licence to display it on the Platform for the purpose of operating the matching and directory service.
12. Intellectual property
13. Data protection
14. Suspension and termination
- We may suspend or terminate a Professional's account, or restrict a Parent/Carer's access to the Platform, at any time, for breach of these Terms, on reasonable grounds relating to safety or trust in the Platform, or where required by law.
- Professionals may close their account at any time by contacting us. Removing a listing does not affect any obligations already owed to a Parent/Carer they have been matched with.
- We may withdraw or restrict access to the Platform, in whole or in part, at any time, including for maintenance or as we transition the service between jurisdictions.
