About

I am passionate about helping children, young people and families develop healthy eating habits that feel realistic, enjoyable and sustainable. Her approach is practical, evidence-based and tailored to the individual needs of each family. I’m a Registered Dietitian with over 30 years of experience helping people improve their health through practical, evidence-based nutrition. I’m passionate about supporting children, young people and families to build healthy eating habits that are realistic, enjoyable and sustainable. My aim is to make nutrition simple, positive and tailored to each family’s unique needs. I work with children and young people of all ages, from babies through to teenagers. I support families with a wide range of nutritional concerns, including fussy eating, growth and weight concerns, food allergies and intolerances, digestive difficulties, vegetarian and vegan diets, and healthy eating for the whole family. Every child and family is different, so my advice is always personalised. Many parents are worried that their child: • Is not eating enough variety • Refuses particular foods • Is not growing as expected • Is experiencing constipation or tummy problems • Has food allergies or intolerances • Needs support with weight management • Is developing stress or conflict around mealtimes I help families build healthier relationships with food while finding practical ways to cook one meal that can work for the whole family. It may be helpful to seek support if you are concerned about your child’s growth, eating habits or nutritional intake, or if mealtimes have become a source of anxiety. Early advice can help prevent smaller concerns from becoming more difficult and gives families practical strategies they can use confidently at home. Your home does not need to feel stressful around food. Family cooking and shared mealtimes can become something positive to enjoy together. I provide practical and personalised nutrition guidance based on each child and family’s individual needs. My approach focuses on reducing pressure around food, improving confidence and helping families make realistic changes that can be maintained over time. I aim to make nutrition feel straightforward and achievable rather than overwhelming. I love seeing families become more confident around food and mealtimes. Helping parents feel reassured and watching children develop a healthier relationship with food is incredibly rewarding. Small changes can often make a significant difference. It is especially lovely to see babies and young children begin to thrive with their eating. Try not to panic or place pressure on your child to eat. Children’s appetites naturally vary from day to day. Focus on offering regular meals and snacks, eating together when possible and creating a calm, positive mealtime environment. When concerns continue, seek advice early. The right support can make a real difference for both the child and the wider family. I offer both face-to-face consultations in Jersey and online appointments, allowing families to access support wherever they are. This flexibility can make it easier to fit nutrition support around busy family life. Families can find out more about Susan’s services through NutritionU at nutritionu.co.uk.
